Need for Coordination

Administration of State Material Reserves of the SR should not store excess materiel not needed by the Armed Forces of the SR at war or state of war. The excess materiel is to be exchanged for another materiel, which will be actually needed by the department of defence in the case of emergency,’ said the Minister of Defence Martin Glváč after meeting with the Head of Administration of State Material Reserves of the SR Kajetán Kičura on Monday.

In the next few days, Administration of State Material Reserves of the SR should specify materiel stored in compliance with the current needs of the Armed Forces of the SR. ‘According to the preliminary estimates, the surplus materiel stored amounts to more than EUR 1.5 million,’ explained the Minister. As he said, also the form of cooperation with the other departments should change in the future. ‘Our aim is to prevent duplicates in a storage pool of Administration of State Material Reserves as a result of the identical requirements posed by the individual departments. In the last 15 years, there was a distinct lack of such coordination.
