Arid Areas of Slovakia on Fire

The Forests in the military district in Záhorie have been affected by fire which spread likely from the railway line near Veľké Leváre. Tatra 815 tank truck from Transport wing Kuchyňa was used at extinguishing the fire of forest cover. The employees of the state-owned enterprise Vojenské lesy a majetky were helping the managing staff of the Firefighting and Rescue Corps with logistic and tactical tasks.

Two Mi-17 helicopters with Bambi Buckets from the helicopter wing in Prešov helped to extinguish another big forest fire, which has been in flames since last Tuesday near Betliar. Upon the request made by the Firefighting and Rescue Corps, the Tatra 148 military tank truck remained in the area.
