After the joint negotiation of the V4 Defence Ministers with the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Brazil Celso Amorim, Martin Glváč concluded that the V4 group is viewed by defence departments as a solid “trademark”. The meeting in such configuration has been held for the first time. “We informed the Brazilian counterpart of our joint activities and introduced prospective platforms of potential cooperation – be it bilateral cooperation or cooperation within the V4 group,” stated the Slovak Minister. In their discussion, they raised the issues of cooperation in the field of cyber defence, aviation, special units or education. Martin Glváč informed that Slovakia intends to establish the Military Attaché Office in Brazil, which will coordinate the joint activities.
The Czech Minister of Defence Vlastimil Picek pointed out that the Czech Republic cooperates with Brazil not only in the field of military but also in the field of defence industry.
According to the Polish Minister of Defence Tomasz Siemoniak, the meeting in Bratislava proved that the V4 group can be an excellent partner also to the non-European countries. He said he could imagine effective cooperation also in the field of military aviation or among the special units.
Hungary was represented at the meeting by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Tamás Vargha.
