Ministry will purchase thermal underwear

SVK MOD plans to purchase thermal underwear for soldiers in an approximate amount of EUR 3.5 million, to include VAT. As an outcome of a public procurement, with the government planning to lodge a tender, a framework agreement shall be concluded for a period of four years. With the aim to address as many potential contractors as possible, the Department of Defence has resolved to inform of the preparations for the public tendering also in this form.

"Thermal underwear is a part of the soldier’s equipment in harsh climate conditions. The purchase is planned in compliance with the SVK Armed Forces’ requirements. The selected bidders shall submit their offers electronically in an on-line auction, which the SVK MOD will hold to award this above-threshold contract. The real numbers of the thermal underwear to be purchased will depend on the actual needs and financial capacity of the Department of Defence," explained the spokeswoman of the SVK MOD Martina Balleková. The Department of Defence plans to invite the tender for purchasing the thermal underwear to meet the needs of members of the SVK Armed Forces for both winter and summer period.
