Our next commitment met by procuring new vehicles for soldiers

Minister of Defence Martin Glváč handed over 28 Land Rover vehicles, 12 AKTIS vehicles and 15 TATRA vehicles to soldiers and members of Military Police. In the course of February, the next 42 Land Rovers should be supplied. “This is how we pursue our aim to invest more money in tangible modernization projects,” he said. He reminded that since 2012 the soldiers had received 70 Land Rovers, 30 Aktis vehicles and 20 Tatras 815.

Minister Glváč pointed out that the Land Rovers were procured as a part of a regular defence procurement procedure via NATO Support Agency (NSPA). "The exercises we have organized revealed what we need to procure and where and for what purposes it should be supplied,” he explained.

The fact that, besides modernization of the Air Force, also the Land Forces are gradually being modernized was appreciated by SVK Land Forces Commander Brig Gen Ondřej Novosad.
