Armed forces tested

In the early morning hours, Lt Gen Milan Maxim, SVK Chief of the General Staff, ordered a stand-by force activation test in selected military units and facilities of the SVK Armed Forces. The test was executed in an unexpected manner and the units to be tested were not disclosed beforehand. “This type of test is vital, for it is carried out unexpectedly and increases the Armed Forces’ readiness in case of their actual deployment,” said SVK Minister of Defence Martin Glváč. “The aim was to verify the readiness of forces and capabilities for a quick activation, should the declared forces be deployed outside Slovakia or should an emergency or crisis occur on our territory,” noted Lt Gen Milan Maxim.
