Preparations for engagement with the V4 EU Battle Group

An earmarked unit of troops from the Transportation Battalion Hlohovec is undergoing training for its engagement with the V4 EU Battle Group (V4 EU BG), which is scheduled to be on-standby from January 2016. The Kolíňanský Vrch Training Ground saw the troops rehearsing their activities while utilising convoy and incident response procedures.
“The formation of the V4 EU BG is the core project of our regional group, that’s why we need to ensure that maximum efforts are taken to make it a success. That’s why the training of our troops to be assigned to the BG has been underway,” remarked SVK Minister of Defence Martin Glváč.
At the training ground in the vicinity of Nitra, members of the Transportation Battalion Hlohovec also practised responding to unexpected convoy ambushes with light assault weapons, while on the move or during a short break. They were tasked to react to the presence of suspicious people, deal with simulated vehicle breakdowns, and render first aid.
