Prospects of cooperation

Cooperation between the SVK MOD and the U.S. Embassy in Slovakia is at a high level. This was acknowledged by SVK Minister of Defence Martin Glváč and the Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Slovakia, Liam Wasley. Martin Glváč informed Liam Wasley on the NATO Counter Intelligence Centre of Excellence (NATO CI COE), which is to be established on the initiative of Slovakia and Poland. He also appreciated the U.S. contribution to the NFIU HQ to be set up in Slovakia. Chargé d’Affaires Wasley spoke highly of the SVK MOD’s modernization projects and was interested to find out about their continuation. As part of the SVK Armed Forces’ modernization, the Minister declared interest in further using the U.S. Government’s Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program. In this connection, Liam Wasley emphasized that the United States highly appreciates the modernization projects in Slovakia as an important message for NATO partners. He also thanked for the SVK Armed Forces’ participation in joint exercises and their cooperation in a U.S. convoy crossing the territory of Slovakia.
