Cadet crowned SVK champion

Pte Lucia Vlčáková, a 3rd-year cadet of the Armed Forces Academy in Liptovský Mikuláš, rose to become the Champion of Slovakia with the time of 15:57 at the Slovak National Cross Country Running Championships held in Šamorín on 19 Nov. Coming in first ahead of others by 1 minute and even overtaking Olympian Iveta Putalová, she won the women's 4 km runners category. “We ran along a grassy track with a sandy section, and obstacles took away a lot of energy from us. Throughout the run I did not go through any crisis, and what helped me a lot was a recent 10-day intense training session in the High Tatra Mountains,” said Lucia, for whom this is the first Champion of Slovakia title.
