Slovak soldiers to deploy on operation in the Mediterranean Sea

The Security Council and Government of the Slovak Republic approved the deployment of Military Police personnel on EUNAVFOR MED Operation Sophia. The Slovak service personnel will serve as a boarding team of a ship sailing under the flag of the Federal Republic of Germany. The length of their deployment is scheduled for two rotational periods, each lasting 6 months, whereas the deployment is expected to take place in August 2017. For EUNAVFOR MED Operation Sophia, Slovakia has assigned 10 military policemen who will be serving on a boarding team of a German Navy ship. The number of the MP team members is firmly set at 10. The team consists of two identical 5-member groups and each member has a clearly defined role.
