On his official visit to Greece, Slovak Minister of Defence Peter Gajdoš today visited several military installations. On Tuesday he will have an office call with the President of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr Nikolaos Voutsis, and a bilateral meeting with the Minister of National Defence, Mr Panos Kammenos, with whom he will open an Industry Day. The event will see the attendance of delegates representing Slovak defence industry manufacturers.
On defence industry cooperation, Head of the SVK MOD said: “The provision of support to our defence industry is among our current SVK Government Manifesto Commitments. That is why I am pleased that our official visit to Greece coincides with an Industry Day.”
As part of today's working programme on Crete, Minister Gajdoš visited Souda Bay Naval Base, a Hellenic Air Force base, a NATO maritime training centre at the Crete Naval Base, and a multinational firing installation. Reflecting on the facilities, Head of the SVK MOD appreciated the high quality of the military installations and the professional readiness of local military personnel.
