WWII veterans in visit to the MOD on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary commemorations for the Battle of the Dukla Pass

In the delegation of the Speaker of the Czech Parliament's Chamber of Deputies, Mr Jan Hamáček, who is visiting Slovakia at the invitation of Slovak Parliamentary Chairman and SNS leader Andrej Danko, are two WWII surviving veterans. Maj Gen Emil Boček and Brig Václav Kuchynka were received by the SVK MOD leaders. The veterans were presented with the SVK Minister of Defence Memorial Plaquettes and enjoyed a ceremonial lunch with the MOD leaders on the occasion of tomorrow's 73rd anniversary of the Battle of the Dukla Pass (Carpatho-Dukla Offensive). The SVK MOD, under the leadership of the Slovak National Party (SNS), respects history and sees it as its duty to participate in military commemorations. Maj Gen Boček is a veteran of the Western Resistance Movement and Brig Kuchynka saw action in the Battle of the Dukla Pass. Tomorrow both of them will participate in the official commemorations at the Dukla Pass Monument and in Svidník.
