Candidates interested in Voluntary Military Training (VMT) can submit their application forms until the deadline of 4 May 2018. This year’s training is scheduled to run from 2 July to 14 September 2018.
 

On completion of the 11-week training, the graduates will receive a reward of over €1,100, whereas the MOD will provide free accommodation, catering, equipment and weapons, and will reimburse travel costs. The training, throughout which young people, aged 19 and over, will gain basic knowledge and skills that are essential for performing some tasks of the SVK Armed Forces, will take place at Training and Mobilisation Replenishment Base Martin.
 
Application forms can be submitted  at the Army Recruitment Teams located in Slovakiaʼs regional capitals, based on the applicantʼs domicile. On successful completion of the training VMT soldiers will be promoted to 2nd Degree Private and will be a source for generating the reserves. In case they are interested in joining the Army, they will be exempted from attending basic military training (BMT). VMT is the only legal way for SVK citizens to gain basic military knowledge and skills without joining the armed forces.
