SVK Armed Forces want to train over 300 active reservists next year

Slovakiaʼs Armed Forces want to train over 300 Active Reserves soldiers next year. Between 26 June and 31 August 2018, reservists who meet the requirements are invited to apply for transfer to the Active Reserves via the Army Recruitment Teams, located in the regional capital cities, depending on their place of residence. Regular trade-specific exercises for active reservists will run across SVK Armed Forces units from April to June 2019.

This year the SVK Armed Forces are planning to transfer 116 reservists to the Active Reserves for 21st Combined Mechanised Battalion Trebišov, 79 reservists for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence (CBRND) Battalion Rožňava, 95 reservists for Engineer Battalion Sereď, and 15 reservists for Military Police Department Trenčín.

Exercises for active reservists are scheduled from 15-26 April 2019 at 21st Cmbd Mech Bn Trebišov, from 20-31 May 2019 at CBRND Bn Rožňava, from 10-21 June 2019 at Engr Bn Sereď and at MP Dept Trenčín.

Active reservists are entitled to 600 euros of motivational pay per year, provided that they have passed through 75% of the regular training programme. In addition to the motivational pay, the active reservist who is an employee is also entitled to a commensurate amount of rank-based military pay for the training period.

Salaries, return public transport fares from the place of residence to the training facility or the place of assignment will be reimbursed to employers, and so is true of the self-employed, the only difference being that instead of a salary the self-employed will receive business income reimbursements. The Ministry of Defence will also refund the social payments and health insurance premiums paid by employers for active reservists.
