Question Time in Parliament: Minister Gajdoš faces questions from children

Why is the modernization of military equipment needed and why the money allocated for modernization is not rather spent on medical welfare? What can be done to better support school leavers in finding employment on the job market? And is it possible to improve the integrated transport system in the capital city? These were just some of the curious questions members of the Cabinet today (21 August) answered during an unusual ʽQuestion Timeʼ after students of the Childrenʼs Comenius University had taken seats in Parliament.

Explaining the modernization issue to ʽuniversity studentsʼ, Defence Minister Peter Gajdoš spoke of the need to equip our service personnel with state-of-the-art military equipment in order to ensure the security of our entire nation, he said: “Not all children in the world are so lucky to live and play in peace and quiet. It is the task of men and women in the Armed Forces to look after our security, so that nobody can take the hard-won freedom away from us.” He went on to say that if they are interested in becoming servicemen and women in the future, the door to the SVK Armed Forces is open to them. “I hope we will meet many of you in uniform in a few years,” he added smilingly.
