A US Army convoy will move across Slovakia for Exercise Brave Warrior

A US Army convoy will move across southwestern Slovakia in the coming days. As part of the scheduled military movement from Germany, the US Army convoy consisting of 39 vehicles and 130 troops, split into two groups, will deploy to Hungary for Exercise Brave Warrior.

On 20-21 September in Slovakia, the route will take the convoy on D2 from the Brodské border crossing via Malacky and Kuchyňa to the Čunovo border crossing and back on 6-7 October 2018. This will be an opportunity for our citizens to see Strykers and Humvees on our roads.

The Slovak Republic provides so-called Host Nation Support (HNS) to our Allies. To ensure smooth convoy operations without major traffic restrictions, the SVK military will provide Military Police vehicles to escort the convoy as it transits through our territory from the Czech-Slovak border to the Slovak-Hungarian border. The convoy will have a scheduled stop at Kuchyňa Air Base on 20 September 2018.

The US Army assets and personnel will be headed to Varpalota Training Area, Hungary for Exercise Brave Warrior, which is organised by the Hungarian Armed Forces. Also taking part in the exercise will be a SVK Army Mechanised Platoon with 42 personnel and 4 upgraded IFVs.
