US Army soldiers injured in an accident at Lešť during Ex Slovak Shield 2018

An accident involving a US Army Abrams tank occurred in the early morning hours of 19 September 2018 at the Lešť Training Centre during Ex Slovak Shield 2018. Three US Army soldiers, including one servicewoman, were injured in the accident. Two seriously injured soldiers had to be flown to hospital by a SVK Integrated Rescue Service helicopter, while the third lightly injured soldier was taken to hospital by ambulance. Given the fact an official investigation into the accident is in progress and the injured soldiers are not members of the Slovak Armed Forces, more information cannot be released at the moment.
