As Ex Coronat Mask 2018 progressed, with the participation of SVK CBRN specialists, its results were checked by the highest representatives of NATOʼs Framework Nations Concept (FNC). In their statement, the inspectors hailed the level of collaboration and coordination among the international Sampling and Identification of Chemical Agents (SICA) teams and appreciated historically the first transfer of toxic chemical samples from Czechia to Slovakia for analysis.
While deployed on Ex Coronat Mask 2018, the SICA teams collected samples some of which were transferred to Ex Toxic Valley 2018 in Slovakia, where they were analysed in the specialist CBRN labs at the CBRN Training and Testing Centre Zemianske Kostoľany.
Ex Coronat Mask 2018 is designed to verify the CBRN capabilities and standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the participating nations in pursuit of interoperability. Due to run until 27 September, the multinational exercise is being attended by 1,350 CZE, DEU, ITA, POL and SVK troops with 480 pcs of military equipment.
