A new Standard is presented to Military Intelligence in handover ceremony

In remembrance of celebrations marking 25 years of the Slovak Armed Forces and the centenary of Czechoslovakia, Minister of Defence Peter Gajdoš presented a new Standard to Director of Military Intelligence Gen Ján Balciar in a handover ceremony on 8 October 2018. This was the first time in history that the Director of Military Intelligence was accorded the honour of receiving a Standard.
The Standard is one of the main symbols of Military Intelligence. In addition to being an expression of identity and a strong moral spirit, it is a symbol of moral ethos, one developing the traditions of Military Intelligence. It is through the Standard that the pride of allegiance to Military Intelligence materialises itself. The Director of Military Intelligence received the Standard with a feeling of great pride and deep satisfaction in recognition of the work and efforts all Members of Military Intelligence have committed collectively in the long term.
Minister of Defence Peter Gajdoš confirmed the historical solemnity of this moment by pinning the Slovak Armed Forces 25th Anniversary Commemorative Ribbon on to the Standard. The commemorative ribbon symbolises not only professional respect and recognition of work but also the military communityʼs strong commitment towards the future and unity of effort towards that end.
