Cabinet approves new statute for MOD

As of today, the Ministry of Defence has a new statute. This comes in response to legislative changes across areas such as SVK Defence, Armed Forces, air traffic, conscription, management of military districts and military forests. The statute of the MOD valid thus far was previously updated in 2002. The new proposed statute, known as the Statute of the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic, was approved today by the Cabinet.
The aim of the document is to update the statute of the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic as per existing legislation and to delineate the relations between the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic and other departments and central state administration bodies in Slovakia. Also complemented in the Statute are the provisions on the use of the Slovak Armed Forces in accordance with applicable legislation.
