Leading the MOD delegation, Minister of Defence Peter Gajdoš met with Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov on Monday (15 October). Also in attendance at the meeting, which took place thanks to the contacts of Parliamentary Chairman and Slovak National Party leader Andrej Danko, were representatives of Aircraft Repair Company Trenčín (LOTN), led by Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors Martin Dušanič. The overhaul of the Mi-17 helicopters for the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) being conducted by the state-run aircraft repair facility and the Mi-17 certificates issue recently publicised in the media topped the agenda.
Given that the meeting was a working session, we did not inform about it in advance. At the same time, we reject the false statement in the media that Parliamentary Chairman Andrej Danko, too, was at the meeting between the MOD delegation and representatives of the Russian Federation. Indeed, the Parliamentary Chairman was not present at the meeting, but he attended the working dinner with representatives of the Russian Federation, without the MOD delegation.
