Military Police thwart illegal sales of diesel

Based on a tip-off from the SVK Military Intelligence, members of the SVK Military Police conducted a crime prevention operation during which they detained two servicemen while they were selling Defence fuel to two civilians. Criminal proceedings were initiated on the grounds of theft. In this way, too, the MOD enforces measures to stop crime across Defence.

During the response, military policemen seized 2,520l of fuel and thus prevented it from being sold illegally. Based on the frequency and volume of stolen fuel, it is estimated that up to 50,000l could have been stolen per year, had Military Police not intervened effectively. The SVK Military Police regularly checks the security of government property across Defence and conducts operations to stop SVK Armed Forces members and civilians from committing crime.
