MOD and SVK Armed Forces military and civilian staff gathered to pay their respects to the memory of all their departed colleagues and service personnel ahead of All Souls Day. Traditionally, the act of remembrance takes place at the MOD Appeasement Memorial.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of Defence Peter Gajdoš said: “I regard paying respects to our departed colleagues and service personnel to be literally our duty not only on All Souls Day but throughout the entire year, because it is a demonstration of our commitment to keeping their memory alive.”
On this occasion, the MOD leaders visited the Hall of Fame at MOD Main Building where too they paid their respects to the departed servicemen and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty while deployed on international crisis management operations.
