The Slovak Ministry of Defence will buy cheaper fuels. This follows on from the results of a tender the MOD has organised via an electronic auction. Compared to the prices for other large consumers, the petrol and diesel prices for the MOD will be lower by 5% per litre on average and the price of aviation fuel will be lower by 8% per litre.
The public over-the-limit tender for fuel supplies was announced by the MOD in the Journal of the Public Procurement Office and the Official Journal of the European Union in May 2018. Based on the best bid, a four-year framework contract worth €41,200,680, VAT included, will be signed with the winner – Slovnaft a.s. Fuel supplies will be purchased in dependence on the current Defence-wide requirements and the availability of financial resources.
