SlovakAid: Slovak Republic delivers official humanitarian aid to Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Head Office of Ecumenical Pastoral Service in the SVK Armed Forces, working in cooperation with the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, prepared and delivered the 6th humanitarian aid consignment, donated by the Slovak Republic, to residents of Višegrad County (Republic of Serbia) and Una-Sana Canton (Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina) on 28-29 November 2018.
The material humanitarian aid from the Slovak Republic will be distributed via the Red Cross branches in Bihač and Novo Goražde as an established mechanism of the Official Development Aid of the Slovak Republic, known as SlovakAid. This demonstrates Slovakiaʼs solidarity with socially disadvantaged citizens of the BiH regions as well as with third world citizens who have found their temporary refuge in the country and are bracing themselves for the tough winter period.
SlovakAid’shumanitarian aid consignment, worth nearly €40,000, consists of winter clothes, nappies, hygienic articles, sleeping bags, mattresses, engine generators, and large tents. The humanitarian aid was handed over to the Red Cross by the Slovak Embassy in Sarajevo in cooperation with the SVK Armed Forces personnel deployed on Operation EUFOR Althea in BiH.
