MOD leaders meet President Kiska for traditional pre-Christmas meeting

Today (12 December) MOD leaders met President Andrej Kiska, who acts as Commander-in-Chief of the Slovak Armed Forces, for a traditional pre-Christmas meeting at MOD Main Building.
Todayʼs meeting was dominated by the SVK MODʼs current agenda. Much of the focus was on the modernization programmes being implemented under the SVK Armed Forcesʼ systemic and systematic modernization and aligned to the 2030 Long-Term Defence Development Plan.
Also discussed was how to make the military profession more attractive. In this respect, Minister Gajdoš highlighted the ongoing work on the Personnel Management Concept. The Concept envisages an increase in military pay next year. President Kiska was also keen to learn more about the servicemen and women serving away from their families abroad over the festive season.
