Another 40 Voluntary Military Training (VMT) graduates took the Oath of Allegiance at the Training and Mobilization Manning Base Martin during a graduation ceremony today (13 September 2019). With the graduation ceremony and their promotion to the rank of 2nd Degree Private (OR-2), they officially completed the 11-week VMT programme and received a financial reward of over 1,100 euros.
During the training, the VMT graduates developed their basic soldiering skills focused on PT and drills, skill at arms, tactical, CBRN, engineer, logistical, CIS, topographical, medical and psychological training, and military ethics.
This year’s intake of VMT trainees started on 1 July 2019. For the VMT trainees, the MOD provided free accommodation, catering, clothing and equipment, and reimbursed their travel expenses over the training period.
