State Secretary Róbert Ondrejcsák meets with Deputy Minister - Under-Secretary of State Paweł Woźny of Polish MOD

A bilateral meeting between State Secretary of the Slovak Ministry of Defence Róbert Ondrejcsák and his Polish counterpart, Deputy Minister - Under-Secretary of State in the Ministry of National Defence of the Polish Republic Paweł Woźny was held in Warsaw today (2 October 2019). For Paweł Woźny, it was one of his first meetings since being appointed as Deputy Minister - Under-Secretary of State.

The aim of the meeting was to assess the current state of the SVK-POL bilateral engagement in the field of international security and defence policy and look at the prospective cooperation options for Slovakia and Poland.

Both sides underlined the need to push for ever-greater coordination of the processes that have been underway at the level of the EU and NATO. Polish Deputy Minister - Under-Secretary of State Paweł Woźny praised the beneficial contribution of the SVK Armed Forces to NATO’s enhanced Forward Presence (eFP) in Latvia, their role in the cooperative activities of the NATO Counter Intelligence Centre of Excellence, and Slovakia’s constructive approach towards deepening the NATO-EU cooperation on defence projects with the active participation of Poland. He also emphasised the importance of a strong domestic defence industry and its involvement in the modernization programmes of the Polish and Slovak Armed Forces.

The official programme of State Secretary Ondrejcsák’s visit to Warsaw continued with his attendance at the Warsaw Security Forum 2019. While there, he also appeared as a panellist on an expert panel discussion dedicated to defence capabilities development.
