The new MOD leadership will not allow the sale of a building owned by Military Forests and Estates of the Slovak Republic, a state-owned enterprise (SOE), in Malacky. The SOE has planned to sell the office building only to rent it from its new owner. This move has since long been criticised publicly by the current head of the MOD, Jaroslav Naď.
Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď said: "As stated in the OLANO Party Manifesto, we will do everything we can to see our goal through – to deliver a responsible and trustworthy Defence, as is also true of managing the defence estate. Therefore, we have decided not to go ahead with this sale, partly due to lack of economic efficiency."
The priority of the current MOD leadership is to introduce a transparent process in the field of defence procurement which will facilitate checks on the spending of funds and resources from the defence budget. "In this way, too, we want to make sure these processes are implemented economically, purposefully and transparently," added Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď.
