MOD Grant Scheme Info Day: VTC participants gain more information on MOD grants

Representatives of NGOs and academia in Slovakia had a unique chance to meet by video teleconference (VTC) for consultations entitled "MOD Grant Scheme Info Day". This was organised by the SVK MOD in an effort to provide all relevant information on the preparation and submission of applications for MOD grants. These are available to NGOs that make a contribution to raising awareness of State defence and MOD-related issues.

Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď said: “As we can see, there is lots of interest in getting MOD grants this year too. As the motto – An Open and Transparent Ministry of Defence – implies, we presented the essential procedures and particulars to the participants during online consultations. In this way, we want to make the entire application process as simple as possible,” adding that “20 participants seized the opportunity to get more information on MOD funding.”

Alongside learning more about the grant terms and conditions in accordance with para 2 (a) through (d) of Act No. 435/2010 Coll., the participants were briefed on the MOD's 15 non-binding priority areas for 2021. During the VTC, MOD officials also presented a sample application form and the MOD Grant Application Manual, as well as taking practical questions from the audience.

This year the MOD plans to disburse €320,000 in grants to NGO projects, whereas it offers from €1,000 up to €50,000 for each eligible project, depending on its size and format. Grant applications close 31 March 2021. Any further enquiries should be sent by email to dotacie@mod.gov.sk.
