Deputy Defence Minister M. Majer views L-39NG subsonic jet trainer capabilities presentation at Sliač

An L-39NG subsonic jet trainer capabilities presentation was staged at the Tactical Wing Sliač today, with the participation of Deputy Defence Minister Marian Majer. The new L-39NG aircraft was officially introduced to the SVK Air Force by representatives of Aero Vodochody.
Deputy Defence Minister Marian Majer said: “We've made the best of today's presentation to broaden our horizons to include the modernisation issues specific to this type of military aircraft. I believe our SVK Air Force personnel have gathered all the essential information, be that from the presentation or air displays of the aircraft. They will be the potential end user of the aircraft in case we decide to go ahead with this modernisation.”
SVK Armed Forces modernisation is a key priority area of the present Ministry of Defence leadership. One of the planned modernisation programmes is the replacement of the in-service L-39 aircraft fleet, as they gradually reach their end of life.
On this occasion, Deputy Defence Minister Marian Majer met with airmen to discuss the tasks and activities of TW Sliač, as well as addressing the planned introduction of the US F-16 fighter jets into service with the SVK Air Force.
