Czech defence and security companies explore collaborative opportunities with Slovak arms manufacturers in Bratislava

Today (20 October 2021) in Bratislava, Defence Ministry Jaroslav Naď along with MOD and Armed Forces officials attended a presentation of Czech defence and security companies. Also present at the meeting aimed at identifying potential areas of cooperation between CZE and SVK arms manufacturers were representatives of the SVK Security and Defence Industry Association.

Speaking in front of the SVK and CZE defence industry community, Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď said: “I am a supporter of intense cooperation between our countries and this is all the more true when it comes to defence and security. The Slovak defence industry has full support from the Ministry of Defence under my leadership, and we have made it one of our priorities, as shown by our efforts to open the doors to our companies at different events at home and abroad.”

On defence cooperation, Mr Naď emphasised that cooperation in the defence and security environment is guided, above all else, by the principle of mutual benefit to both countries. “Over and above the scope of our cultural closeness and good relationship, the high quality of equipment, the price offer, and the role of our domestic industry in the project are the decisive factors,” said the Minister.

President of the SVK Security and Defence Industry Association Tibor Straka appreciated this form of meeting. “We are open to cooperation with every potential partner and the Czech Republic is one of our closest ones. I am convinced both sides have a lot to offer to the benefit of our common development and gain of opportunities,” said Mr Straka.

Among those at the presentation of 10 Czech arms companies were Czech Ambassador to Slovakia HE Mr Tomáš Tuhý and Director of the CZE MOD's Industrial Cooperation Management Department Radka Konderlová.
