A company operating in Slovakia appears on the U.S. sanctions list

In response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the U.S. Department of Commerce has today released a sanctions list with 91 entities supporting Russia's military activities. INCOFF AEROSPACE s.r.o, based in Bratislava's Dúbravka, appears on the U.S. sanctions list.

Targeting the entities supporting the Russian military is cited as a justification for the sanctions. These come as a response to the entities that have been involved in, contributed to or otherwise supported the Russian security services, military and defence sectors, and military and/or defence research and development efforts.

Through this action, the security agencies of the Allies protect our common interests and eliminate possible threats. Thanks to joint efforts, a network of cover businesses and affiliated entities that covertly acquire technologies for the Russian secret services and security agencies have been identified. These technologies are then used in building the capabilities of the Russian Armed Forces which the Russian Federation has committed to attacking Ukraine.

On the sanctions against the designated businesses, Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď said: “I am pleased to say that while we closely cooperate with our Allies, we are also successful in eliminating the misuse of international trade in sophisticated technologies as these are being misused in killing the Ukrainian population.”

The aim of the sanctions is to limit the designated companies' access to U.S. commodities, software and technology, thereby reducing Russia's ability to obtain the items it needs to continue its military aggression.
