The Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence and the Editorial Staff of Defence Monthly have announced the 21st MOD Drawing and Painting Competition – Soldiers Through the Eyes of Children. All primary school pupils are warmly invited to participate in the competition. Through their art creations, they can show their experiences and perception of the work our servicemen and women do and the lives they have in the military. Both individuals and teams can send their entries no later than 13 May 2022.
Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď said: “Children are our future. The period in which they are growing up is not easy. Nevertheless, our servicemen and women are working continuously to keep them and all our citizens safe and secure. We, therefore, take a sincere interest in how children perceive their work and mission. I guess the intense deployments of our soldiers provide enough inspiration for them. I am very much looking forward to seeing their entries portraying military personnel through their eyes.”
The competition is divided into two categories – junior pupils (grades 1 through 5) and senior pupils (grades 6 through 9). A panel of judges, made up of artists, MOD employees and service personnel, will select three best competitive entries in each category.
