Slovakia has so far supported Ukraine with approx. €154m in military aid

Slovakia has so far supported Ukraine with approx. €154m in military aid. In their today's conversation, Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď and his Ukrainian counterpart Olexii Reznikov discussed, among others, the next tranche of military assistance for Ukraine. During the phone call, Mr Reznikov highly appreciated all forms of Slovak aid that has contributed to saving thousands of lives in Ukraine.

Speaking of the latest conversation between the two leaders, Jaroslav Naď said: “Minister Reznikov and I have really been in regular and intense contact, discussing Ukraineʼs current requirements that are constantly changing as the situation evolves. We are looking to possibilities and ways to answer Ukraineʼs pleas, while mutual understanding of our countryʼs realistic capacity to meet them is a matter of course. Nevertheless, Ukraine may rest assured of Slovakiaʼs genuine willingness to help.”

The head of the UKR MOD was particularly appreciative of Slovakia's willingness to seek further possibilities of assistance and its constructive approach throughout the negotiations that resulted in Ukraine awarding a commercial contract for eight Zuzana 2 Self-propelled Gun Howitzers (SpGHs) to KONŠTRUKTA - Defence last week. The state-owned and MOD-run company will complete the production of the first pieces of the howitzers for Ukraine over the next few weeks.
