Aircraft Repair Company Trenčín (LOTN), a state-owned joint stock company under the remit of the SVK Ministry of Defence, has signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Aero Vodochody AEROSPACE at SIAF 2022, in the presence of Slovak and Czech Defence Ministers Jaroslav Naď and Jana Černochová.
In doing so, LOTN and Aero Vodochody AEROSPACE are building on their previous agreements relating to the general overhaul of L-39s and the fact that LOTN is the main industrial partner of Aero Vodochody AEROSPACE in Slovakia. The companies have agreed to future cooperation on the production of aircraft design units, the integration and production of avionics and systems for the L-39NG, integrated logistics, maintenance services, and the upgrades for L-39 and L-39NG aircraft.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď said: “Our Trenčín-based Aircraft Repair Company has conducted hundreds of repairs and upgrades of military and civilian aircraft, even for international customers. I trust this cooperation will mean a further shift in the development and growth of the state-owned company.”
LOTN continues to support Slovakia's defences by delivering aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for the Slovak Air Force.
On strategic cooperation between LOTN and Aero Vodochody AEROSPACE, Director General of LOTN Ľubomír Galko said: “This cooperation will extend the companyʼs portfolio, increase employment opportunities in the region, and improve the competence of personnel as we also engage with secondary schools and colleges across Slovakia.”
