Minister Naď thanks the outgoing Ukrainian Ambassador for his exemplary work benefiting the SVK-UKR friendship

Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď had the pleasure of meeting HE Mr Yuri Mushka, outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Slovakia, for a farewell call today (Tuesday 18 October). Ambassador Mushka is now retiring from the Diplomatic Service appointment in Slovakia, which he has held since assuming the post in January 2017.
In their conversation, they spoke about the current situation in Ukraine, the potential scenarios of how the war could play out, and the different forms of cooperation with and assistance for Ukraine.
Acknowledging the close ties of friendship between the nations, Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď said: “The aggressor is stepping up his senseless attacks on civilian infrastructure and is continuing to kill innocent people – which increasingly strengthens our full resolve to keep a steady flow of our military and non-military aid to Ukraine. We will always be here for our neighbours and friends – even when this horror is over.”
Minister Naď commended Ambassador Mushka for his dedication and pro-active approach to driving forward the SVK-UKR bilateral relationship and expressed the need for continuity of this excellent cooperation. In his opinion, though, the situation will remain extremely complex for Ukraine over the coming period.
Minister Naď wished Ambassador Mushka plenty of strength and resolve in the face of his future professional and personal challenges. “Iʼd like to thank Ambassador Mushka for his exemplary work benefiting the SVK-UKR friendship, which has always been backed by his professional and human input,” Mr Naď said.
Ambassador Mushka thanked Slovakia for its assistance to Ukraine and for establishing itself as a mainstay of support to the Ukrainian people in this most difficult time for Ukraine.
