State Secretary of the SVK Ministry of Defence Marian Majer received the Slovenian Ambassador to Slovakia, His Excellency Mr Stanislav Raščan at MOD Main Building in Bratislava. The aim of their meeting was to evaluate the current political and security situation in the Central European region and to discuss topics of bilateral defence cooperation between the countries.
In his conversation with Ambassador Raščan, State Secretary Majer highlighted that the SVN contribution to the NATO Multinational Battlegroup Slovakia adds a new level of dynamics to the SVK-SVN bilateral defence relationship, saying: “To our cooperation, the 100-strong Slovenian Contingent (SVNCON)ʼs engagement in Slovakia brings a lot of positive moments which come to strengthen the quality of the SVK-SVN defence relationship, and, just as importantly, Slovakiaʼs security and NATOʼs collective defence.”
State Secretary Majer thanked his Slovenian partners for Slovenia's recent accession to the Technical Arrangements (TA) on Host Nation Support (HNS) for the NATO Multinational Battlegroup Slovakia, which will ensure an effective partnership and enable smoother practical collaboration. Also, he appreciated the Slovenian party's promise to sustain its contribution to the Alliance's force in Slovakia in the coming year.
The two took stock of SVK-SVN cooperation thus far and identified new opportunities in politico-military areas of mutual interest, including for their defence industries.
