Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď receives the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise in Ukraine

During his official visit to Kyiv, Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď received the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise (2nd Degree) from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. With the award of the Order as a sign of the Nation's recognition, the Ukrainian Head of State grants honours to distinguished representatives of other states, rewarding their extraordinary service to the Ukrainian Nation.

Sharing his thoughts on what it meant to be recognised with the honours, Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď said: “I am immensely honoured and sincerely appreciate being recognised with the honours I received from Ukrainian President Zelenskyy in Kyiv. The Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise will forever remind me of all the difficult decisions that are being misused politically back home, yet they have saved lives in Ukraine. It will also bring to my mind all the service personnel and civilians who have been behind the safe transport of vital materiel to Ukraine. In it, I will always see the gratitude of the Ukrainians I have met in person and to whom I have expressed our solidarity. And, last but not least, it will keep telling me that sincere determination, faith and common interests, combined with a good intention, are stronger than any concentrated evil.”

Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď along with Foreign and European Affairs Minister Rastislav Káčer and Economy Minister Karel Hirman travelled today to Kyiv to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Defence Minister Olexii Reznikov.
