2023 MOD Drawing and Painting Competition: 'Soldiers through the Eyes of Children' now open for entries

Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď, Chief of Defence Gen Daniel Zmeko, and the editorial staff of the MOD's DEFENCE Magazine have announced the 22nd MOD Drawing and Painting Competition titled 'Soldiers through the Eyes of Children' open for entries. All primary school pupils are warmly invited to take part in the competition through their art creations, portraying their views of Service men and women's work and life.

Defence Minister Jaroslav Naď said: “The military job and the Oath of Allegiance are associated with a swathe of virtues and a range of professions, yet there is just one mission – to remain loyal to the country and to put one’s life on the line for the country in defending it against all dangers. I am really looking forward to seeing primary school pupils share their unique views on service to the country.”

The competition is divided into two categories – junior pupils (grades 1 through 4) and senior pupils (grades 5 through 9). A panel of judges, made up of artists, MOD employees and service personnel, will select three best competitive entries in each category.
