Slovak delegation commemorates 100 years of Czechoslovakiaʼs formation in Prague

Today (27 October) Minister of Defence Peter Gajdoš is attending the first part of the official celebrations of 100 years of Czechoslovakiaʼs formation in Prague.

Speaking on the occasion of Czechoslovakiaʼs centenary, Minister of Defence Peter Gajdoš said: “The 100th anniversary of the establishment of the common State celebrates a long-lasting legacy of the brotherhood between Czechs and Slovaks. And although our national borders divide our two States today, we remain close and mutually reliable partners for each other. This is true in fields of defence and security on the bilateral level as well as in our joint engagements in international groupings.”

As part of the centenary celebrations of the independent state of Czechs and Slovaks, the Slovak delegation attended the reopening of the National Museum in Prague. The ceremony featured the documentary ʽKey Moments of Our Common Centuryʼ, the Symphonietta on 100 Years of the Independent Czechoslovak Republic performed by the Czech Radio Symphonic Orchestra, and the Czech-Slovak/Slovak-Czech Exhibition 2018. The centenary celebrations will continue on Sunday (28 October) with a military parade involving SVK Armed Forces soldiers as well.
