Primary school pupils can join "SOLDIERS THROUGH THE EYES OF CHILDREN" Fine Art Contest this year too

The SVK Ministry of Defence has announced the 19th MOD Fine Art Painting & Drawing Contest titled "SOLDIERS THROUGH THE EYES OF CHILDREN". Thus, once again, primary school pupils have a chance to express their ideas about the life and work of SVK Armed Forces service personnel through paintings and drawings.

Divided into two categories – junior pupils aged 6-11 (Year 1-5) and senior pupils aged 12-15 (Year 6-9), competitive entries will be reviewed by the judging panel, including artists, MOD employees and service personnel. The first three winning entries in each category will receive prizes and be printed in the MOD-published Obrana [Defence] monthly magazine and displayed on the SVK Ministry of Defence website.

Individuals and teams are asked to place their entries in envelope marked ‘Contest’ and, along with the title, author’s name, home address, school address, school grade, and telephone number, send them no later than 15 May 2020 by mail to: OBRANA Editorial Staff, Kutuzovova 8, 832 47 Bratislava. Traditionally, the results will be announced in public during the Children’s Day with SVK Armed Forces event, the date is still to be confirmed.

To comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Personal Data Protection Act, the competitive entries must be supplemented with written consent from both parents/legal guardians to enable the processing of personal data, the public display of competitive entries, the release of competitive entries for use in printed and electronic media, and the processing of photographs and video footage from the prize ceremony.
